“The truth will set you free”. Living and expressing the truth and being authentic will not only set you free from fear and worry, but also realign us with our core essence. Truth is the power that makes extraordinary and lasting changes in people’s lives and in the world.
These days, when such tragedies are happening in the beautiful country I live, in Turkey, similar to many people around me I feel very sad for people whose family members, relatives, neighbors are affected by the attacks. I feel sad for our country, where people can’t feel safe any longer. I feel frustrated with the way political situation affects lives of normal people.
I remember 90’s in Russia, when there were attacks in Moscow, and in many other cities of Russia. In the metro, theaters, schools, in the streets… It is very unfortunate that some people want to prove their truth to others by destroying their lives as well as lives and wellbeing of other people.
How to live in this environment, when you do not feel safe yourself and you can’t protect your loved ones? What can we do?
I chose to live every day like my last one: not to leave conflicts unresolved, have joy and pleasures, enjoy my work, be kind to people around me, express my love and appreciation. I try not to go to very crowded places, unless it is a must. I believe in bright future, Truth and Peace will take over.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has” – said Margaret Mead. Let’s be that group that supports Peace by being smart, loving, caring and fearless in our desire to change the World to a better place.
My sincere condolences to victims of Istanbul and Ankara tragedies.
