#Holistic living #Gratitude #Positive thinking
We all, or almost all, live with the impression that we lack something: money, love, good weather, time, energy – impossible to list all of it. And we rarely pay attention to what we already have, but it is usually not little. If you have $3,650, including the value of your home, you’re among the wealthiest half of people in the world. (This is net wealth - so, once debts have been subtracted.), according to Credit Suisse's new report on global wealth. What will change if instead of thoughts about lack of something, we will start sharing gratitude for what we have (thanking Universe, God, Ourselves, Family, Friends, anyone we chose).
Imagine sunny Sunday morning, and you’re going to get some freshly baked bread for breakfast. You can walk and think a thousand thoughts about not sleeping enough, too many things to do, working week starting tomorrow again… And you can look at the sun, listen to the birds, feel happy for the kids laughing and smell the bread… Feeling gratitude for all these beautiful things around. What do you think will happen to your mood with the first or second type of thoughts? Of course, when we feel grateful, our mood improves, we vibrate with positive energy, we are more open and sharing, better understanding ourselves and others. We can develop this habit, and express it more often, the habit of thanking yourself and people around us as well as something bigger, that everyone calls differently; God, Universe, the Creator…
What will change? Gratitude will affect us, there will be more peace and joy in our life. It will affect people around us, as we’re all connected. If you note, kind words and deeds change people around us. And we will have more of the things that we’re grateful for. Gratitude returns to us bringing unlimited opportunities in return.
How can one develop a habit of gratitude? I’m having a journal that I start my day with. And I share my gratitude for all the good things I had in the previous day. Please do not hesitate to express your gratitude to people around you, closely connected ones and strangers. Please stop sometimes, and see how beautiful is the world around you. There is so much beauty in simple things, if we just stay still for a moment, and pay attention to them. And we’re so lucky to see them.
Thank you for enjoying my thoughts and have a wonderful summer day!
