In coaching, we often offer our clients to look at the situation from the different perspective: a friend, a conflicting party, their mother, a great historical leader. Why? Just to change their perspective and open new ways to look at things. It helps to break the loop, where our mind is stuck at times going rounds and rounds and rounds.
A story… Today my boyfriend was in a very depressive mood. It happens occasionally. While talking he shared with me that he sees a particular situation as “losing”. I was completely sure that it is a “winning” and was feeling very good about it. One situation, but two absolutely different views, different moods, and even physical condition. He’s sleeping now, tired.
This week I’ll be practicing different views at the same situations if I feel stuck or see a situation as “losing”. And will try to help others with it. Hopefully, not too many problems will come to practice it.
And a quote from Weyne Dyer: "Your thoughts are the source of virtually everything in your life . . . Change your thoughts, and you change what you carry around in your head as problems . . . You can process it in any way that you choose . . . change your mind from one that created and experienced problems, to one that resolves them."
Would be great to hear about your ways to open your mind, turn on creativity, positivity, different perspective.
