Arman was born in Armenia. He graduated from the Yerevan State Medical University with pediatrics degree. He started post-graduate studies and also worked as an anesthesiologist at the Filatov children’s hospital in Moscow. In 1998, he presented his Ph.D. Anesthesiology and Reanimatology thesis at Russian State Medical University. In 2005, Arman earned his Executive MBA degree from the Harvard Business School. 

During 1998-2013, he worked for Johnson&Johnson being a Managing Director of Johnson&Johnson in Russia and CIS since 2007. Arman was one of the initiators who created the International Medical Device Manufacturers Association (IMEDA) in Russia and has chaired its board of directors since 2008. Also, he is a co-chair of the Healthcare committee of the American Chamber of Commerce.

Arman is interested in ethnic art, leads active community activities, likes traveling and skiing.

After the interview with Arman, I reflected and analyzed if living with a purpose, according to my values, leading with the heart, having strong relationships and being disciplined (the concept of empowering leadership that Arman described in the first part of our interview) does bring happiness into my life.
