How is it there? At mountain Everest...

Today in our 12h issue of the podcast I talk with Luciana Nicoara, Ocean Freight Development Manager, VRK EXPEDITIONS SRL & BCL EXPEDITII SRL.  We talk about her recent experience of Everest Base Camp Trekking and how Mountain Climbing and Yoga were helping her to be successful in her career.

By listening to the podcast you’ll find out:

  • About Luciana’s story of her recent Everest Climbing
  • What qualities are needed to reach such a target, and what lessons it teaches
  • How to find time and energy for your passion if you work very full time?
  • What are the benefits of your hobby in relation to work
  • How important is to have a good team “back home”
  • And about Yoga (thanks to it, we met with Liciana in India)

Luciana is a very enthusiastic, full of energy and result driven person. She is from Romania and as a young adolescent Luciana was very much interested and preoccupied by the fundamental questions of life, like “ Who are we, really?”; at the age of 15 she started to study diverse types of philosophies and spirituality domains with accent on yoga practice, participating in various workshops and trainings both in Romania but also in Germany, Holland and India. She graduated Law School, while she built a career in a different field then the law, ocean freight and logistics working first in a Greek forwarding company as sales executive. In 2005, at the age of 28, she was already Country Manager for Safmarine Container Lines, a brand of A.P. Moeller - Maersk group, number one ocean carrier in the world. Then from 2010 she moved further on joining multinational forwarding companies like Cargo Partner and Panalpina as National Product Manager and Country Head of Ocean Freight. Yoga and meditation technics helped her to obtain an well-being state, relaxation, vitality, efficiency which supported her in the career. Beside yoga, the other passion Luciana has, is mountaineering and while she is climbing in the Romanian beautiful mountains as often as she gets the chance, she has done Everest Base Camp trekking this year, using on the mountain, like in her career, inner strength, self motivation and the team support to reach up to 5600m altitude. Variouses trainings and specializations for people management, personal development, life coaching, leadership, emotional healing offered Luciana the opportunity to deepen into human nature knowledge from multiple perspectives and motivated her to share this with others, starting to teach yoga from 2015, while from 2016 being an accredited yoga teacher by Yoga Alliance."
